We have had the great pleasure of meeting with JAUNT designer Kim Lai who also brought along the new gorgeous range of bags that are perfect to take on holiday with you! Kim Lai has a wealth of experience and has collaborated with Alexander Mcqueen and Viktor & Rolf on travel projects. The collection consists of oversize clutch bags, overnight bags such as the JAUNT Explorer and totes such as the JAUNT Resort that are all made from lightweight canvas. This means the bags are perfect for packing away in your suitcase without the added weight, which helps us all in the day and age where an extra kilo of weight in a suitcase is almost as much as the flight itself! Kim Lai explained to us how she wanted to make a collection of handbags for women which were suitable for every occasion while on holiday so that you could have a bag to take on the plane, a bag for the beach and a bag for a candle light dinner. This range is especially designed for the beach and conveniently these bags are made right next to the beach in Italy.
The inspiration for this beautiful and unique range came from a trip that Kim Lai took to Turkey where she found some ideas for the colours, styles and materials of these bags. Turkey is also where the material is sourced from that has been put into the collection giving a touch of culture to the collection.
The travel clutch and the resort clutch are both of a perfect size for all your belongings that you need for a romantic dinner and walk along the beach of an evening and are also completely flat which means they do not take up any extra room in your suitcase so you can pack more in!
The totes are the classic beach bags! They are both very big and will be able to fit everything in that you need to carry down to the beach with you. However if you do not find them big enough, there is always the option of unfolding the top of the bag to make sure that you can squeeze that extra bottle of sun cream in!
The overnight bag is the biggest bag out of the range and is perfect for taking on the plane with you to carry the essentials, purse, passport etc, but also the items that couldn’t quite fit in your suitcase! However this bag isn’t just for the plane, if you were staying friends at the weekend or were just simply a Big Bag Lover in general then you will also love this bag.
In all, we loved this collection and there truly is a bag for every occasion while on holiday. They are practical, lightweight and big. Just perfect if you are luckily enough to be jetting away somewhere special.
